Biography
He was born in Gaza 1975. He lives and works in Gaza. He is a founding member of the Contemporary Art Encounter Group in the Gaza Strip. He was trained by the Syrian-German artist residing in Berlin, Marwan Kassab Bashi, at the Summer Academy – Darat al Funun – Khaled Shoman Foundation. He received many awards and art grants, the most important of which is an art residency in Paris “Cité Internationale des Arts” with the support of the Taawon Foundation and the A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah, participated in an art residency in Geneva for one and a half years and he won the first Artistic Excellence Award of the Young Artist of the Year Award organized by A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah. He also won the first prize in the exhibition (Palestine Art) sponsored by the French Cultural Center in Gaza and Bank of Palestine in 2009. Issa held many individual and group exhibitions in Palestine and abroad. His works were then acquired by many art collectors, individuals and institutions in many countries of the world, and he was invited to participate in workshops and art residencies in Japan, Britain, Jordan, Egypt, Ireland, Senegal, France and Switzerland.
